Challenge:

During Oliver’s initial construction phase, the developers aimed to deliver the finest internet experience for their residents. After a site survey by ORI, we found the only issue was to wait on the permit and work with the civil engineering of Yorktown, Mount Pleasant Township, and Delaware County.

ORI emerged as the winning vendor among numerous competitors, securing the contract based on their outstanding services and competitive pricing. ORI collaborated closely with the developer to design the network infrastructure. The Oliver is a three-story 26 Class-A modern loft apartment.

ORI’s Solution:

With a focus on accuracy and efficiency in installing low-power wiring, the ORI project manager, in collaboration with the network engineer, commenced their work with the builder and contractor before the construction. The project’s broad scope encompassed all residential units and shared spaces. These included the warm and welcoming lobby, the state-of-the-art fitness center, the well-equipped remote-work lounge, the professionally designed conference rooms, the comfortable indoor and outdoor lounges, as well as the functional indoor and outdoor kitchens, and the sociable outdoor common areas. An integral part of ORI’s blueprint was the implementation of Managed WiFi6, with a vision to offer high-speed internet coverage throughout the entire building.

In their pursuit of delivering top-tier service, ORI also designed and deployed a cloud-managed system and switches, highlighting their technological prowess. A brilliant move established a temporary WiFi network for guests and potential residents, demonstrating ORI’s foresight and commitment to providing seamless connectivity. This vast network’s vital force was a high-capacity 10Gb fiber link backbone and 1Gb FTTI, ensuring smooth and rapid internet service across the premises. With authorized access to the building’s data closets, ORI successfully enabled the network for the residents, marking a significant milestone in their project.

The Results:

The building-wide WiFi system allowed each apartment to possess a unique code to join the WiFi network, facilitating the formation of a secure Private Area Network (PAN) for shared devices and IoT. This setup allowed for a seamless operation of devices like Apple TVs, Roku, and Alexa across the entire property while ensuring the security of residents’ personal information and devices. The smooth transition of residents onto the new network led to an impressively low number of tickets or trouble calls, a testament to the quality of ORI’s deployment.

After installing the fiber-optic network and Wi-Fi6 routers, The Oliver Apartments has emerged as a premier residential community in Downtown Plainfield. Its distinct advantage of being one of the few buildings equipped with fiber optic and Managed WiFi has significantly simplified life for tenants working remotely. This has led to a surge in its popularity, resulting in increased occupancy rates, as tenants are drawn to the combination of high-speed internet and modern amenities.
